4 Cougars named Honorable Mention

USF running back College Fanz 2nd Team NAIA All-American

 FORT WAYNE, Ind. – University of Saint Francis senior running back Daniel Carter has been named to the 2009 College Fanz Sports Network All-American Team selected by NAIA coaches and the College Fanz Football Game of the Week broadcast team.

Carter (Indianapolis / Decatur Central H.S.) was named to the second team after closing a record-breaking career at USF in November. The 2008 Mid-States Football Association Mideast League Offense Player of the Year was a 2009 American Football Coaches Association All-America Team selection in December.

USF had four honorable mention selections in senior defensive end Stephen Whited (Columbus, IN / Columbus North), senior center Brendan Carragher (Crown Point, IN / Andrean H.S.), Donavon Evans (Indianapolis / North Central H.S.), and Carl Thomas (Fort Wayne, IN / Carroll H.S.).

The Cougars finished 7-3 in 2009, their 12th season for the football program, and ranked No. 17 in the NAIA coaches Top 25, USF’s 128th consecutive ranking.
