

Warren Maloney, the Mid-States Football Association Mid-States Assistant Coach of the Year in 2008, plunges into his 13th season scheming the defensive side of the ball for the Cougars in 2010. Maloney has coached 11 NAIA All-Americans including NAIA Rawlings National Player of the Year Brian Kurtz (2006), two AFCA All-Americans in Kurtz and Tim Farrell (2008), 10 NAIA/Victory Sports Network All-American first-team selections, three VSN second-team selections, nine NAIA/VSN Honorable Mention selections and 58 All-MSFA selections over the last eight seasons.
Maloney's 4-4 scheme has helped the USF defense to rank among the top 5 in
NAIA in 2005 and 2006 for fewest total yards allowed and fewest points allowed.
Prior to joining the USF staff, Maloney served at California University, PA., where he coached linebackers (1994) and offensive line (1995). He was the assistant coach at Delray Beach Atlantic (FL) High School for 11 years (1985-93, 96) before joining coach Donley's staff at Cal. Maloney's first coaching job was at Northeastern High School (FL) where he served two seasons as defensive coordinator.
Maloney obtained his bachelor's degree from Franklin College (IN) in 1983. Maloney was a three-year starter at Franklin College under Indiana Football Hall of Fame head coach Stewart "Red" Faught, who later was an assistant on Donley's staff at Georgetown in 1991. Maloney is a Shelbyville (IN) High School graduate.
Maloney, a two-time MSFA Assistant Coach of the Year (2005), and his wife Kristi reside in Fort Wayne.
